Ahhh…I guess we are now officially residents of Novato.
We are still unpacking, organizing and settling in, but I love having this new area to explore. While we live in a very modest house, there are some wonderful things about our new location. Our neighborhood has nearby walk/bike paths, a park, a hiking trail over the hill that is directly behind us, a very short walk to the Historic/downtown area, and my husband can walk to work (15 minute walk!).
It’s nice.
Also, tons of birds – we hear them chirping 24 hours a day. Thomas, our cat, likes that… a lot!
Photos of husband in Slade Park, flowers from the backyard, and Thomas relaxing in his new favorite spot of the house (top to bottom):

I turned this wedding menu wheel (so cute!) by Rifle Design into a Valentine’s Day card for my husband. A little silly and a lot of fun to make! It is obviously not a masculine-looking card, so I used blue and neutrals to help balance it out a bit. Placed in an envelope made out of red construction paper, sewn around the edges – leaving the top open for a punched hole and red + white baker’s twine.

A few photos from the annual Santa Rosa cat show – can I adopt all of them?

A butterfly exhibit at the California Academy of Sciences, San Francisco:

A trip to San Francisco is not complete without a visit to Kinokuniya Stationery and Gift in Japantown. My big purchase for the day: colored and striped mt masking tape.

If you haven’t seen Maru yet, you really should.
Watch him here, here and here and prepare for cute overload.

I am completely finished with the scarf + goodies package for the ISE7….yay! The person I had to knit a scarf for wanted one to wrap around her neck, head and the works! Because of the length, it was quite awkward to wash and block – especially with Thomas (see below) around! I hope she will be happy with the scarf. It is so soft! I added some extra goodies that are also some of her personal favorites: two skeins of Manos del Uruguay, a blank journal with gel pens, and Burt’s Bee lip stash.

Handmade card:

Same cookies as in the last post, but different packaging. I thought they looked nice enough to post… so here they are:

Thomas on the go (notice the really cool chair in the background *grin*):

My husband = work in Chicago, me = visiting family in Sacramento.
Leaving this little guy behind:

And our garden – maybe the title should have been “Hang on Little Tomato“:

Two packages of banana bread to go:

I miss home already.
