It all started one morning without eggs for breakfast – oh no! So my sweet husband drove to the market (only about four blocks away)….ten minutes goes by, then fifteen, twenty and so on. I am thinking, “it shouldn’t take this long to buy some eggs…something bad must have happened”. When he returned home, he not only brought home eggs, but a sewing chair too! Not from the market, of course. He found it at an estate sale across the way for only twenty dollars. What a great find…and surprise!

Ta-da! Spools of thread or ribbon, perhaps?

My apologies for the more not-so-nice photos, but you get the idea.
Catching up – August went by so fast! It is sad…I was looking at my blog entry dates and I only have three entries for August! I knew going back to work full-time meant having very little or no time for blogging/creative “stuff”. Have I mentioned that already? *grin* Anyway, about two weeks ago, I made some baby bloomers from my Japanese sewing book by Makie. My first try at it (like everything else), and I am pretty pleased with the way they turned out. Although, I need to use a different technique for sewing in elastic. I might be able to say a few words in Japanese, but reading it….no.

So it is Labor Day weekend – and wonderful to be at home for the holiday. We had some friends over for dinner on Friday night, made a delicious, but very easy salmon dish from Martha Stewart and made this flourless chocolate cake with caramel sauce for dessert. Yum!
Saturday = shopping in Napa and on the way back home, we stopped in Sonoma for good eats at Maya restaurant.
