A Soundtrack for Summerlike Weather

Ah….one of my instrumental favorites when the sun comes out – a quiet couple.

Take a listen below.

Nostalgia with a Side of Coffee Cake

I love photo booth photos!  I came across these beauties as I was looking through some of our old photo albums and oh goodness.  Ugh!  Did I mention *old*?  Starting at the left, 1995, 1996, and finally 2004 – engaged.  The color photos were taken inside Woolworth’s in Sacramento at the K Street Mall, which closed in the late 90s.  I also remember making trips there with my grandma when I was a little girl.  Does anyone have childhood memories of their neighborhood Woolworth’s?

I miss that bowling shirt.

Mocha coffee coffee cake.  You can find the recipe here.  I only had enough powdered sugar for a little glaze, but it did not seem to stop us from indulging.  A tasty treat for breakfast.

Dr. Dolittle

Because I loved the opening credits so much, my husband put this together for me.

Thanks, Husband!

Hey – and if you’re a Netflix subscriber, you can watch Doctor Dolittle right now.

Uh oh, it looks like you don't have Flash installed.

Shop Update

Take a look at my new invitations via Etsy.  It is a new and kind of random idea, but it hit me weeks ago as my husband and I were driving through the hills on Highway 12 and REALLY wishing for the spring season to arrive.  And spring is just the beginning for long strenuous bike rides to the ocean, park, around a lake and etc.  You get my drift.  So why not get the word out to your friends and/or loved ones to join you in the adventure with an invitation?

Check them out or leave me a comment.  What do you think?  Good or bad idea?  I would love to hear from you!

Just For You

What can you do with an empty protein powder container?  I stripped off the label, washed it inside and out, and created a label in Illustrator.  I used “Tacky” Glue for each end of the label and wrapped it around the container.  Then, filled the container with S’mores brownie bites – or insert the baked goods of your choice here -  and sealed with the plastic lid.  It makes for a nice treat.   My inspiration for the label was a moth ball container (charming, eh?) from the 50s spotted at an antique store in Redding.

ISE 7 Package Received!

We have been visiting my folks and friends in Sacramento for the last few days.  It was good to have a change of scenery and spend some quality time with loved ones.  However, I neglected to post on the package I received from the ISE before we left for the trip.  Better late than never, eh?  My secret “scarf pal” sent me a beautifully knitted scarf and hat (too!) along with extra goodies:  two skeins of Rowan yarn and extra Malabrigo for making fingerless mittens, packages of dragon fruit, pumpkin pie candles, striped ribbon, and the cutest card.  She is very thoughtful and I love everything….thank you, NK!

A few of my favorite things:

The knitted scarf – I love the ruffled edge:

The knitted hat:

A little side note:  if you are in the Sacramento area and love pizza with lots and lots of garlic, stop by Zelda’s.  I highly recommend the pesto pizza with mushrooms or the spinoccoli – yum!
