I was so pleased to find these beautiful clothbound literary classics at Anthropologie. I am currently reading Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen and in the very VERY near future, I see myself tossing my existing copy aside and purchasing this one. Oh – also, if you favor watching a movie over reading a book, check out the 1940 film adaptation of Pride and Prejudice. It is most charming.

My dear dad is turning 60 this year and I made these Italian-inspired invitations for the special occasion. Why Italian? Firstly, that is one question you should never have to ask. *grin* Secondly, with a last name like Lavagnino, how can you not?

The cover. If you look close enough (I don’t recommend this), you can see our printer was getting a little tired at this point. This copy was in the “extras” pile.

The inside (smudged for a little privacy):
The insert:

“When things go a little bad, nowadays, you go out and get yourself an -ism and you’re in business.” – Grandpa Martin Vanderhof
A line from the 1938 film, You Can’t Take It With You. How some things never change.
There was more to explore at the San Francisco Zoo…
The Eugene Friend Carousel:

This, of course, was my seat of choice *grin*:

The Mother’s Building, a close-up on one of the tile and mosaic murals – beautiful:

The drive home along the Great Highway (iPhone quality) – it was a clear and splendid day:
