My husband and I carpooled to San Francisco yesterday. Him = business meeting, me = Japantown (again).
I grazed on oyako donburi and daifuku, purchased more Japanese masking tape* from Kinokuniya Stationery and Gift for upcoming items in the “shop“, and finally, stalked by a pigeon outside of the Peace Plaza.
* You can purchase Japanese masking tape here, here, and here.

My stalker, the pigeon:

Next stop was Kara’s Cupcakes at Ghirardelli Square – if you are a local or tourist, it doesn’t matter. Leave your things – and go now! Yum!

Smores cupcake to go (chocolate cake, marshmallow frosting, graham cracker crust on the bottom):

Ghi_ardelli:

I turned this wedding menu wheel (so cute!) by Rifle Design into a Valentine’s Day card for my husband. A little silly and a lot of fun to make! It is obviously not a masculine-looking card, so I used blue and neutrals to help balance it out a bit. Placed in an envelope made out of red construction paper, sewn around the edges – leaving the top open for a punched hole and red + white baker’s twine.

A few photos from the annual Santa Rosa cat show – can I adopt all of them?

A butterfly exhibit at the California Academy of Sciences, San Francisco:

A trip to San Francisco is not complete without a visit to Kinokuniya Stationery and Gift in Japantown. My big purchase for the day: colored and striped mt masking tape.

What is your favorite holiday tradition?
Tomorrow with my husband’s aunt, Lucy – I am so excited!:

at the War Memorial Opera House, San Francisco:

There was more to explore at the San Francisco Zoo…
The Eugene Friend Carousel:

This, of course, was my seat of choice *grin*:

The Mother’s Building, a close-up on one of the tile and mosaic murals – beautiful:

The drive home along the Great Highway (iPhone quality) – it was a clear and splendid day:

My husband took me to the San Francisco Zoo (aka the Fleishhacker Zoo) for my birthday. It was such a sweet surprise and also my first time visiting – I was giddy like a little girl! Thank you again, Husband!
My favorite attractions:
The lemur forest

Awww….I call this one, “Thomas in a bear suit”

The sleeping koala

What I have been feeling like lately – in the singular form, of course (and minus a couple of bullet points).

Husband and I stumbled upon a great lunch place in the city called Café Cubano.
Delicious food and friendly people.
Check them out!
