(Not entirely. Husband and I have made the occasional evening trip to the frozen yogurt shop. Hehe.)
For the last week (or so it seems), the weather has been unbearably hot. Too hot for outside fun, but there is one thing that is wonderful about this type of weather and the indoors…plenty of time for sewing!
It has been nice to actually finish & complete a good handful of sewing projects.
This is my handful: pillows, picnic blanket, tea towels, small zippered pouches, and iPad pouches (photos below).
iPad zippered pouches:

PS. Too hot = anything over 80ºF. Kind of pathetic, right?
PSS. Maybe the word “wimpy” comes to mind. That’s alright…you can say it. I won’t hear you.
Taking time away from unpacking boxes for a small package of cookies (no photos of the cookies, uhmmm…just this). The recipes are sooo good, though – thought I would share.
I used this recipe for the sunflower seed butter and jelly cookies. If you clicked on the link, you’ll notice that it is *peanut butter* and jelly. I just mixed it up a little bit. Also, use any kind of preserves you like. I had strawberry-guava on-hand and that’s what I used. Yum.
The lemon ricotta cookies recipe is right here. I didn’t make the glaze, though. So sad, I know. The glaze would have been excellent, but I decided against it. Two reasons: the hot weather and via USPS. Yikes. The glaze would look a little funky, right?
Glaze=no. Cookies=yes.

My “Cousteau” fabric that I recently received from Spoonflower, and the small pillow that I had sewn with it.

Now…back to work!
I am so happy! I received my first fabric request via Spoonflower. I love that she wants to make aprons and kitchen curtains out of this fabric. What cute ideas!

A spinach smoothie for the warmer months – add one frozen banana, as much spinach as you want, almond milk, and one tablespoon of cocoa powder and blend!

Husband and I took a walk to the local nursery, King’s Nursery, over the weekend. Quickly snapped a few shots of my favorites. Has anybody tried this before?
Swing with the plants made by Droog. I’ll take one for each room, please??

I am giving away one yard of my new birds fabric!

The fabric is printed via Spoonflower. It is 100% quilted weight cotton, and very easy to sew with. Tote bags, iPod/iPhone cozies, and children’s clothing are the first project ideas that came to mind.
What are some of your ideas?
Happy commenting, and good luck!
